In the puranas and Upanishads, these beads are referred to as the Jewel of the Gods. The quality of the Rudraksha is determined by the clefts generally known as the Mukhi on the surface of the beads. Depending on the number of Mukhi on the surface of a beads helps the quality can be analyzed.
